Having a break between litters was nice! But, I have a few potatoes to work with and I would suspect you all want some updates. So we're back on track! I've been working with these guys even though I haven't been posting regularly about them, but now it's time to begin again. The GoT crew are all reserved and I'll be posting a video of them for those of you who aren't on my FB page where I tend to update a lot more. (Hint Hint).
I have chosen to retain one of the GoT pups (Ygritte) as she's replacing her momma - the guardianship girl Draud. Draud will be returning to her owners after this litter is weaned - to be spayed and continue her life as a beloved pet. You can read about my guardianship program in one of the links above. So, if you ever wanted a quality Corgi and couldn't afford it, you might consider a guardianship program. It helps me progress my program and you get a fantastic experience and essentially your pup for free. Read about it, if it interests you. I'm currently considering a guardianship family for a male pup of out of Goose (Corga Fett) from her upcoming fall last litter before she's spayed.
Ygritte will also replace (in the household, at least) Lexi. Lexi is now with her son Maslow and his fantastic owner Alyssa on the other side of the state. Lexi is having the best time and Alyssa is one of those owners who I place on a pedestal. She is amazing and I have some outrageously awesome amazingly great owners! You can keep an eye on Lexi and Maslow and a lot of my pups on my FB page at Outlands Corgis. Fun stuff!
I am starting to plan my fall litters. I was blessed to have Draud's genetic sister returned to me while her family is over-seas. She'll be having a couple of litters for me until her family returns home. She's another red and will be bred to Midas this fall hopefully. I love the Draud x Midas cross and now I am excited to see that cross in red! Her name is Exo and I'll be updating her information soon on the Dogs link.
The other dogs I plan on breeding in the fall are Goose (Corga Fett) for the final time and Lilly who will be 2 y/o this fall (in a couple few months!). I'm super super super super excited for Lilly, as she'll be my first Midas baby making babies! I'm planning on hopefully bringing in some bloodlines from outside studs (well, definitely in Lilly's case) via A.I. I was considering only red studs, but now I'm just opening it to health checks and a bit more show type. I'd love to incorporate some Honey Fox lines. More on that as we progress.
So, Exo, Goose and Lilly are lined up for fall. Cross your fingers!
The last thing I'm planning won't happen until Spring. But, I'll be bringing in an out-cross for Midas. I intend to go back to the same breeder and pick a new stud from her. A bit shorter, a bit longer but still with the strong body structure and athletic ability that Midas comes from and produces. Fun times coming up! Hope you all are a part of it! Now... onto the video!
