How to buy a puppy:

A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a beautiful and intelligent dog, but with it comes the responsibility to learn about their personalities and quirks. Most Corgi have been placed in good, well-meaning homes, only to be abandoned later because they weren't what the buyer expected. As a responsible Breeder we take great effort in finding a suitable home/new owner for our hand raised puppies so both the puppy and new owner have a great start, both understanding the other.

As a new owner of a Corgi, you probably would prefer to be without surprises and a Corgi puppy deserves to go to a home that will love and understand him forever. Take the time to learn about the Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed and be sure it's what you want before you put a deposit down.  Everyone loves how cute Corgis are, but not everyone can live with one and the specific requirements that breed needs.  We ask many questions to understand the best match for you and your puppy.

Step 1:  READ THE FAQ PAGE!

Step 2: FILL OUT PUPPY APPLICATION

There are no right or wrong answers it just gives us a point of beginning. It helps identify misconceptions or problem areas for your situation or environment for your new puppy. It also promotes discussion and questions otherwise neglected. It helps identify your environment and the personality of the companion required.

Contact - At this point you may have many questions or the need for additional information that's best answered by direct contact. In fact, I'd prefer it! I like to get a feel of the people wanting my pups. I ask for a questionnaire to be filled out just to break the ice and get the main questions out first.

Step 3: HURRY UP AND WAIT! ;)

Approval - Once approved - an E-mail confirmation with information on the process of selecting an available puppy or reserving a puppy from our future litters will be sent to you - or - I'll just chat with you about it. I'm not entirely formal. rest assured though, you'll know when you're approved for an upcoming litter.  At no time will we accept a deposit on a future litter, but pre-approval for one of our pups puts you at the top of our wait list.

Review Puppy Purchase Contract - Totally familiarize yourself with the Breed and its Characteristics. You want to make very sure this is the breed for you and your family! Feel free to chat with me! I'm here for you! Then once you're ready, I'll send you a contract for the puppy you are chosen for.

TAILS! (and/or dewclaws) - If you want to keep a tail on the pup, I need to know IMMEDIATELY. Pups are docked and dewclaws are removed within the first week of life.  You will need to pay the deposit immediately if you choose to leave tails or dewclaws on your pup.

Step 4: READ FAQ AGAIN WHILE YOU WAIT...

Puppy Selection! - and place a deposit to reserve your selection. (See payment info below) Usually there are several available to choose from, but since we know these little potatoes personalities, we like to match clients up with pups as much as possible. When dealing with a working dog like a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, you can run into a lot of different types of personalities. Some pups are meant for working like they're bred to - heeling cattle. These herders will literally herd you, your other pets, your children... and when they're working, they heel, that means they nip and nudge. So high heeling drive isn't something I want to place into a house full of kids.  Other times, pups can be a bit aloof and sensitive, not liking chaos in their environment. I tend to place these guys with adults. Of course, most Pembs are fantastic, easy-going, amiable dogs who are fabulous with kids.  Hopefully you'll get your choice of babies, but rest assured, they're all wonderful pups and I'll make sure you get a good one that's right for you and yours.

Time to wait - Pups can go to their new homes starting at 8 weeks old (depending on the individual puppy and its readiness. We can discuss pick up and shipping as the time gets closer.
PAYMENT METHODS:

Holding Fees:

A NON-REFUNDABLE holding fee of $500 will be placed towards the purchase price of your chosen puppy. While these fees are non-refundable, they are transferable to another puppy or litter. The purpose of the non-refundable holding fee is to reserve the puppy for the Buyer, and Seller will desist advertising the puppy once the non-refundable holding fee is received.  The non-refundable holding fee will not be returned/refunded, due to the potential loss of buyers and the additional money/time to re advertise the puppy - EXCEPT under specific circumstances which are covered under the contract.

Puppies will not be held until the holding fee is received or payment is cleared.

Options for holding fees:

  • Personal Check - I accept checks for holding fees.
  • Pop Money - An online payment processor. I can Invoice you thru your e-mail address where using any debit or credit card can make payments online. PopMoney accepts Master Card, Visa, Amex, and Discover. It costs .95 to use.
  • Money Order - Money Orders that are purchased via Walmart as those are deemed most safe (apparently).
  • Bank Issued Cashier's Check -  Must be from your bank with the banking logo upon it.
  • Paypal - for holding fee only. Friends and family, or add on the 6% surcharge I get charged by Paypal if you utilize any other method of paying your holding fee via Paypal - which is service, as I am providing a service not a product for the holding fee.

Any extra fees (health certificates, extended stay care etc.):
  • Extended Stay Care - If after 7 days if pup is not picked up on the day that was arranged, a boarding and maintenance fee of $20 per day will be added to the sale price and must be paid before the puppy goes to its new home. Puppy can be resold and the deposit will be forfeited unless other arrangements are made.
  • Health Certificates and/or Other fees incurred upon owner's requirements -  All fees must be paid in full before puppy is allowed to leave. This includes any accoutrements for airline flights.

SHIPPING:

  • In general I'm not a fan of shipping puppies but sometimes it is the only way - The whole process is very stressful for the new puppy, we prefer each puppy to be picked up and can usually meet you part way to make it easier for you. However, after a point  long trips become more stressful on the pup being picked up than a short flight would be. A good rule of thumb is that if the drive will take 10+ hours, it is likely in the pup's best interest to fly (not to mention the owners).
  • When distance dictates air shipment we ship nationwide out of Spokane International Airport in Spokane, WA. - IF WE HAVE TO! I prefer lap nannies!
  • All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, along with any costs for special health requirements. Shipping costs are expensive, our shipping fees represent our costs only. We do not add any additional fees to shipping. Currently, a 10 week old puppy would cost apx. $550.00 to ship to most USA locations (includes Certificate of Inspection, crate).
  • We do offer Lap Nanny service which means that we will fly your puppy to you with your puppy being in-cabin for the ride with me or one of my agents (aka daughter if I'm not available). That cost will be the ticket plus a $500.00 charge. Your puppy will be taken care of directly by one of us the entire flight and off-boarding.  Your pup will be less stressed than driving 10+ hours or crate shipping via cargo. You also won't have any of the potential health threats cargo offers at times. You will need to meet us inside the airport at baggage claim for pick up. All of this must be pre-paid prior to service.

(Alternatively, you could fly out yourself and we'll meet you happily at Spokane Airport for no extra charge)
  • Please note- Spokane is a round trip drive of 90 miles from us plus parking fees. We waive our expenses at this time to keep your shipping costs down.
  • If two pups are shipped from the same litter or are relatively the same size they can be shipped in the same crate. You will need an additional health certificate. Shipping two pups generally requires a larger crate.
  • Pups are shipped to the nearest major international airport to you. Shipping two puppies in the same crate can increases the cost of shipping as it's usually based on weight.
  • Lastly, I'm not a super experienced shipper of puppies. Don't expect me to know all the answers. I'll find out what's needed ahead of time and we'll discuss it all in detail.
